Terms of Service

By accessing or using Gearboxe (the "Service"), including our web application and mobile applications for iOS and Android, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.

Gearboxe is a vehicle maintenance and community platform available on web and mobile. The Service includes:

• Vehicle management — Add, track, and manage vehicles with detailed specifications, mileage history, and service records
• Maintenance logging — Record service entries with photos, costs, parts, receipts, and service provider information
• Maintenance schedules and reminders — Set recurring maintenance intervals and receive email and push notifications when services are due
• Build threads — Document vehicle projects with posts, photos, and community engagement
• Community features — Create posts, comment, react, follow other users, and discover builds
• Direct messaging — Send private messages to other users, share vehicles and build threads
• Vehicle transfers — Transfer vehicle ownership along with full service history to other users
• Achievements — Earn points and badges for platform activity and maintenance milestones
• Tasks — Create and manage vehicle-related to-do items with priorities and due dates
• PDF reports — Generate and export detailed vehicle and build thread reports

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

You may only maintain one account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are duplicates or that violate these Terms.

Gearboxe offers a free tier and a Pro subscription tier. The free tier includes limited features (such as a single vehicle). The Pro tier unlocks additional features including unlimited vehicles, unlimited build threads, PDF reports, unlimited media uploads, and priority support.

On the web, subscriptions are processed through Stripe. On mobile, subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. Subscription plans, pricing, and billing details are presented at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or through the applicable app store. Refunds are handled in accordance with the policies of the applicable payment processor or app store.

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Gearboxe, including vehicle data, photos, videos, maintenance logs, receipts, build threads, community posts, comments, and direct messages ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Gearboxe a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.

Content you set to public (such as public vehicles, build threads, and community posts) may be visible to other users and discoverable through search. You control the visibility of your vehicles and build threads through privacy settings (private, unlisted, or public).

You agree not to post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others. We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
• Post spam, misleading content, or unsolicited promotions
• Harass, bully, or threaten other users through posts, comments, or direct messages
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any other systems or networks
• Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service or collect data
• Circumvent rate limits or other technical restrictions

Users may report content or other users for violations including spam, harassment, inappropriate content, and misinformation. We review reports and may take action including content removal, warnings, or account suspension.

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice. Decisions regarding content moderation are at our sole discretion.

The Service allows you to transfer vehicle ownership to other Gearboxe users. When you initiate a transfer, the receiving user will gain access to the full vehicle record including service history, maintenance logs, mileage history, and associated media. Vehicle transfers are irreversible once accepted by the receiving party.

You represent that you have the legal right to transfer any vehicle you list for transfer on the Service. Gearboxe does not verify vehicle ownership and is not responsible for disputes between users regarding vehicle ownership.

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Gearboxe and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of Gearboxe.

You may request deletion of your account at any time through your account settings. Upon requesting deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period during which you may cancel the deletion request. After the grace period, your account and all associated data — including vehicles, maintenance records, build threads, posts, messages, and media — will be permanently deleted.

We recommend exporting your vehicle data and PDF reports before requesting account deletion, as this action is irreversible after the grace period.

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Gearboxe does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

In no event shall Gearboxe be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Vehicle maintenance information provided through the Service is for informational purposes only and should always be verified with a qualified professional. Gearboxe is not responsible for vehicle damage or safety issues resulting from reliance on information within the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on the Service and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
